Digital Planning for Beginners

What this guide is for

Use this workflow when you have a planner PDF and want a safe working copy on a tablet, phone, or computer. The goal is simple: import once, confirm that writing and links work, and protect the file before adding real plans.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Keep the download untouched. Save the original PDF in a clearly named folder. Do not begin writing in the only copy you have.
  2. Import a working copy. Use the app’s Import or Open action, then rename the new notebook with the year or purpose of the planner.
  3. Test the pen and eraser. Write a short note, erase part of it, and undo the change. This confirms that the app is editing the imported notebook.
  4. Test one internal link. Many apps follow PDF links only in navigation or read-only mode. Switch modes before tapping a tab or date.
  5. Add one image. Insert a small PNG or photo, resize it, and move it. This reveals whether the app’s image controls fit your workflow.
  6. Confirm backup. Let cloud sync finish, or export a separate copy to a different location before building a larger system.
