How to Use Digital Planning Resources

What this guide is for

Digital planning downloads may contain PDFs, PNG stickers, fonts, covers, or a ZIP archive holding several formats. This guide helps you identify each file and put it in the right place without importing the whole download blindly.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Inspect the download name and extension. A .zip file must be extracted before its contents can be imported. A .pdf is normally a notebook or page pack, while a transparent .png is usually a sticker or cover element.
  2. Create one source folder. Keep the untouched archive and extracted files together. Add subfolders such as Planners, Inserts, Stickers, Fonts, and Covers only when they reduce search time.
  3. Import PDFs as notebooks or pages. A complete planner usually becomes a new notebook. A small insert pack can be copied into an existing working planner after one page is tested.
  4. Use transparent PNG files as movable elements. Import one image, check its edges on both light and dark paper, then save it to the app’s reusable elements library if that feature exists.
  5. Install fonts at the correct level. Some apps import fonts directly; others use fonts installed by the operating system. Install the font on every device that will edit the document.
  6. Archive resources you rarely use. Keep the active library small and move seasonal or project-specific files to an archive folder.
